Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains exactly how DashCamGo collects, uses, and protects your data.
Last Updated: April 28, 2026
DashCamGo is a mobile dashcam application developed and operated by Jumbo Software Ltd. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how it is stored, and your rights regarding your personal data. By using DashCamGo, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
DashCamGo requests the following device permissions. Each permission is essential to the core dashcam functionality and cannot be replaced by an alternative approach.
DashCamGo uses your device camera to record continuous video footage while you drive. This is the core function of the app — without camera access, the app cannot operate.
Legal basis (GDPR): Legitimate interests — providing dashcam functionality you have explicitly requested.
DashCamGo may record audio alongside video footage to capture in-cabin sounds such as conversations, emergency audio, or road events relevant to an incident.
Legal basis (GDPR): Consent — you may enable or disable audio recording at any time in settings.
DashCamGo accesses your precise GPS location both while the app is visible (foreground) and when it has moved to the background (background). This is necessary to provide a continuous and accurate GPS overlay on your recordings.
Foreground Location
Used when the app is open and visible on screen. Provides real-time GPS coordinates, speed, and route overlay on your video recordings.
Background Location
Used when the app continues recording after your screen has turned off or you have switched to another app. Background location ensures GPS data remains accurate and synced with video footage throughout your entire journey — not just when the screen is active. We do not use background location to track your movements outside of active recording sessions.
Legal basis (GDPR): Legitimate interests — providing accurate GPS-tagged dashcam recordings as a core product feature.
DashCamGo may continue recording video, audio, and location data while the app is running in the background or when the device screen is locked during an active recording session. A persistent notification is displayed while recording is active.
Recording only occurs when the user has explicitly started a recording session. Users can stop recording at any time and can disable audio recording in the app settings.
Purpose: Core dashcam functionality — recordings are stored on your device or your private cloud storage
Purpose: Optional feature to provide complete incident documentation. Can be disabled in settings.
Purpose: Embedded as a data overlay on your recordings and stored as video metadata
Purpose: Crash detection — automatically locks footage when a significant impact is detected
Purpose: Account management and unlocking premium features
Purpose: App stability, bug fixing, and performance improvement
All recordings are stored locally on the user's device unless explicitly shared by the user. Nothing is transmitted to our servers.
